(12) All NC-USS taps are bright zinc plated and all NF-SAE taps are black oxided to allow you to quickly tell them apart. Rethreading taps will not crosscut or undercut the thread the way a cutting tap will. These taps are not to be used on hardened threads nor to cut new threads.
